In support of the senior housing CRE sector during the COVID-19 pandemic, Lemont, Illinois-based Englewood Construction recently donated 100 gallons of hand sanitizer and 100 gallons of surface sanitizer to a senior living client that was experiencing shortages of these critical items across its network of facilities due to the coronavirus.
Englewood Construction president Bill Di Santo says its ongoing renovation and remodeling projects at senior living communities have paused as operators limit facility access to essential staff, but its has remained in close communication with those clients to make sure its continuing to be of assistance to them in every way it can. “When one client shared with us that their facilities were not only running low on essentials like hand sanitizer and surface cleaners, but that those supplies also were difficult to obtain through their normal channels, we decided to tap into our own network to see if we could help.
“In our line of work, it’s a lot of ‘I’ve got a guy…’ to solve whatever issue might be at hand,” Di Santo says. “And that’s exactly what happened—we knew a local source who could supply us with the sanitizers our client needed. We are so pleased to send this shipment to our client in a gesture of partnership and goodwill—we are all in this together.”
