Ecore, a company that transforms reclaimed materials into high-performance products that make people’s lives better, is making a full court press into the sports, recreation, health and wellness markets with the launch of its new BOSS (Built On Site Surfaces) line of surfaces engineered for spaces ranging from playgrounds to outdoor courts and fields. These new BOSS systems add a whole new category to Ecore’s industry-leading portfolio and represent a strategic step in the company’s aim to be a one-stop resource for performance sports surface solutions.

The initial launch of the BOSS collection consists of two competitive turf systems engineered for both indoor and outdoor fields: BattleTurf and ClashTurf. These two systems are designed to be constructed on the job site. Ecore plans to expand the BOSS line with two poured-in-place rubber surfacing systems with various levels of thickness for play zones and areas where fall safety is a priority later this year.

“Ecore already is well-known as a leading provider of surfaces across the competitive athletics market. This launch further expands our offerings and enables us to bring our expertise to all types of recreational and wellness environments,” explained Bo Barber, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Ecore. “Our new BOSS offerings also align with our mission to drive demand for rubber-based, recyclable materials that move us closer to a world free of rubber waste.”

The first two BOSS products from Ecore include:

·       BattleTurf: BattleTurf is an advanced competitive turf system that is extremely durable and specifically designed for high-impact sports environments. The unique woven pattern of the turf surface reduces infill splash, provides superior playability and decreases rotational resistance, while the 12mm TurfShok absorbs force and impact resulting in reduced body impact and lower leg stress. BattleTurf meets specifications for competitive field hockey, lacrosse, and soccer fields and can easily be customized with field lines and logos. Furthermore, the use of polyolefin coating on the backing of the turf makes it fully recyclable at the end of its useful life. Custom lines and logos are available in this system.

·       ClashTurf: A competitive sports surface for indoor and outdoor athletic fields, this turf system requires infill and is extremely durable due to the higher face weight. With a natural look and feel, ClashTurf offers excellent drainage and is well-suited for football, soccer, and multipurpose fields. ClashTurf also features a 12mm TurfShok that provides added safety characteristics to the playing field related to force and impact reduction. Custom lines and logos are available in this system.
