The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey recently completed the Bayonne Bridge “Raise the Roadway” project and EarthCam was selected to document this incredible undertaking. I thought you would enjoy seeing the time-lapse movie of the 6-year construction process showcased in under two minutes.
The arch bridge was originally built in 1928, but with the increasing size of container ships in the 21st century, an overhaul of the bridge was necessary. EarthCam’s time-lapse construction cameras captured the elevation of the deck as it was raised from 151 to 215 feet to accommodate for the massive ships traveling through the waterway.
