DuPont (NYSE:DD) will showcase its Tedlar® film solutions, including COASTALUME™, for the roofing industry at the International Roofing Expo (IRE), the largest roofing and exteriors event in North America. IRE will take place from February 19 to 21 in San Antonio, Texas. Tedlar® will be exhibiting at booth #6113, directly adjacent to COASTALUME™ partner United States Steel Corporation (NYSE: X) at booth #6121.
Launched just over a year ago, COASTALUME™ is a first-of-its-kind product that combines U. S. Steel’s GALVALUME® with DuPont™ Tedlar® PVF film to create a revolutionary, maintenance-free, and highly sustainable roofing and siding offering for both residential and commercial projects. COASTALUME™:
· Is designed to withstand hurricane-force winds, resist hail and other impacts
· Offers unparalleled resistance to damage from salt spray and chemical exposure – showing superior resistance to corrosion on exposed edges versus competitive materials
· Resists fading and chalking, mold and mildew growth, and even graffiti over the roof’s lifetime
“The DuPont team is excited to be back at IRE to share the latest developments in COASTALUME™ and Tedlar® innovation,” said Corynn Sheridan, Global Marketing Director, DuPont™ Tedlar®. “Tedlar® brings a great sustainability story to the construction market as a non-PFAS material that enables longevity to a range of roofing systems; especially steel roofing, which is recyclable.”
“Dramatic weather events continue to make building in areas like coastlines a challenge,” said Mark Carlisle, Construction Marketing Manager, U.S. Steel. “COASTALUME™ stands up to these environmental challenges exceptionally well, and we are proud to offer such a strong solution to the industry.”
COASTALUME™ was recently used in several Florida coastal construction projects including the new J Hotel in Dunedin, Florida, and a new-construction three-story residential home a mere 100 feet from the Tampa Bay; both of these projects are located directly adjacent to water and have already withstood hurricanes. At the Tedlar® booth, IRE attendees can hear directly from the installers who worked on these projects about their experience using COASTALUME™.
Attendees can also look forward to meeting Joe Mazza, licensed home inspector and HGTV host, who will be on-site in the U.S. Steel booth. Mazza will be sharing his expertise, discussing the role metal roofing plays in modern homes, and how sustainability and smart home trends are shaping the future.
