Duda|Paine Architects is pleased to announce that Jeff Paine, FAIA, our visionary co-founder, retired from his full-time role in January. After almost 30 years of extraordinary leadership and unwavering dedication to our clients, Jeff has taken on the role of Consulting Partner to continue contributing to the firm’s success in a new and meaningful capacity.
Jeff co-founded Duda|Paine Architects with Turan Duda in 1997, establishing a firm that has grown into a nationally and internationally respected architectural practice.

Under Jeff’s and Turan’s leadership, the firm has designed numerous corporate headquarters, iconic office and residential towers, and award-winning student life, learning, and wellness facilities.
In 2012, Duda|Paine was honored as the AIA North Carolina Firm of the Year. In 2016, Jeff was selected as a Visiting Scholar at the American Academy in Rome, and in 2019, he was elevated to the AIA College of Fellows

In addition to managing the daily operations of the practice, Jeff has been a devoted mentor, establishing and nurturing a new generation of design and business leaders to address the complex challenges facing architectural practice today. While stepping back from daily operations, Jeff will continue to be a part of Duda|Paine’s culture as Consulting Partner and Board Member, providing guidance on select projects and key initiatives. His wealth of experience and insight will remain a resource for our clients and teams as we move forward.
