CornellCookson, a leader in closure products for commercial, industrial, institutional and retail applications, and Clopay, North America’s leading overhead sectional door manufacturer, have launched an intuitive Architect Portal that offers architects and designers a valuable tool to streamline their workflow. The Architect Portal is a design support destination for those specifying commercial rolling doors, sectional doors and security grilles throughout North America.
“The Architect Portal assists the architect and design community by providing a valuable product resource,” said Siva Davuluri, Vice President of Marketing, CornellCookson. “It saves time by eliminating the task of searching several websites or requesting materials from individual contacts and product representatives. We’ve gathered all of our materials dedicated to commercial door specification into one centralized location.”
Time-Saving Design And Technical Support
One of the most valuable aspects of the portal is a direct connection to the experts: a knowledgeable Architectural Design Support team, in-house technical experts, and product representatives. With the click of a mouse, architects and designers can gain design insight and critical architectural problem-solving support based on more than 100 years of combined building industry experience. Reaching out to this network is simple – click “Technical Questions” in the portal’s main menu and ask a question.
Supporting Documents for a Vast Product Library in One Convenient Place
The new platform also allows designers and specifiers to easily locate and download essential documents, such as data sheets, specifications, and BIM models for Cornell, Cookson and Clopay products.
Drawings On Demand
For specifiers who need to know exactly how a door will fit in a designated space, a Rolling Door Drawing Generator is available under the “Download Library” tab, found in the portal’s main menu. This feature allows users to select a product from a scroll-down menu and choose options such as manual or motorized operation or locking mechanisms. Users enter project information such as the building opening’s size, wall construction material and guide mounting. The Drawing Generator takes this information and produces AutoCAD drawings showing exact door clearances as well as mounting and wall details. A private link to custom drawings is emailed to the user from the Drawing Generator.
