Thompson Receives Marketing Achievement Award

Core States Group’s Senior Director of Marketing, Carla Thompson received the Weld-Coxe Marketing Achievement Award on August 16th from the Society of Marketing for Professional Services (SMPS). SMPS, a national organization dedicated to developing marketers in the A/E/C industry, grants the award to recognize the accomplishments and contributions of the individual to the industry over a lifetime. This tribute is the highest honor given by the organization and is not awarded routinely–only when SMPS identifies a deserving candidate. Core States recently hired Carla to set marketing strategies, foster employee engagement, and elevate brand awareness as the company expects to grow quickly within the coming years.
Carla was named a Fellow of SMPS in 1999 for her successes including over 150 seminars, workshops, and presentations; numerous articles in national publications; and 22 marketing communication awards (14 of which were first place). She is the founder of the SMPS Fellows Forum program currently being presented at SMPS chapters and regional conferences and the national Build Business conference and created a popular A/E/C Marketing 101 five-part seminar series which has graduated more than 800 marketers, project managers, and principals over the years. Carla has presented educational programs for the members of SMPS, AIA, AGC, ACEC, NAWIC, and NEBC and has been retained by such well-known business consulting firms as Zweig (formerly ZweigWhite) and the Coxe Group to conduct workshops on their behalf.
