JK2 Construction is celebrating another milestone after earning a spot on the University of Florida’s Gator100 list for the sixth time, reinforcing the Apopka, Florida-based company’s steady rise as one of the fastest-growing Gator-led businesses in the world.
The Gator100 program recognizes the 100 fastest-growing companies owned or led by University of Florida alumni. Honorees are selected and ranked based on compound annual growth rate over a three-year period, with businesses required to post at least $250,000 in revenue annually from 2022 through 2024, remain in continuous operation for at least five years as of Oct. 31, 2025 and be led by a University of Florida alumnus who served as a chief executive between Jan. 1, 2022 and Oct. 31, 2025.
For JK2, the recognition is more than a marker of financial growth. It is also a reflection of the leadership foundation that continues to shape the company.
“It’s always an honor to be recognized for growing our business,” says Dan Shaffer, Director of Pre-Construction/CFO at JK2 Construction. “It’s especially meaningful to be recognized by the institution that helped shape our leadership and business values.”
The company’s ties to the university run deep. JK2 has several University of Florida graduates in key leadership roles, including Founder Paul Holmes and Shaffer, helping strengthen the company’s connection to the Gator network while guiding its continued expansion.
Founded in 1987, JK2 Construction has grown into a respected family-owned company with expertise across design-build, commercial, retail, entertainment, restaurant, industrial and amenity projects. Under its current leadership team, the company has built a strong reputation for creative project delivery and principal-level involvement on every job.
The latest Gator100 honor adds to a growing list of recognition for JK2, which has also received multiple ABC Eagle Awards, appeared on Orlando Business Journal’s “Fast 50” list and earned a place on the publication’s Golden 100 ranking of top privately held companies in Central Florida.
JK2 Construction was recognized during the Gator100 event held April 10-11 in Gainesville, Florida.
With six appearances on the list, JK2 continues to show that its momentum is not slowing down — and that its growth story is still being written.
