The Puget Sound area in Washington, where Boeing has been a large presence, will soon see another facility that will be used to fabricate the composite plastic wings of the companies 777X aircraft. An investment of about $4 billion will be made to construct the plant. The plan moves forward after 51 percent of the firm’s International Association of Machinists union voted to approve a contract deal that required members to make concessions in terms of wages and benefits.
