“Jose Garza, a foreman for Camarata Masonry Systems in Houston, finishes an office building wall in San Marcos, Texas, constructed with a new block made of cement and recycled expanded polystyrene (EPS). The block’s manufacturer, Bautex Systems, announced a new distribution agreement with Corpus Christi-based masonry supplier Martini Brick Sales. As more commercial and residential builders want energy efficiency, mildew and mold resistance and storm safety for their buildings, Bautex Systems expects an increase in demand for products like this on the Gulf Coast.”
