Armstrong World Industries has introduced the DesignStackz™ Ceiling System, a unique integration of L-shaped tegular mineral fiber ceiling panels, Suprafine® 9/16″ suspension system, and multi-directional 90-degree brackets. The system has been innovated for flexibility and precision in geometric ceiling design. While DesignStackz smooth-texture visuals achieve the look of a complex and sophisticated ceiling design, it was engineered for ease of installation, offering a simple 4′ x 4′ module layout that is easy to combine with system components. For architects and designers, DesignStackz ceiling panels—available in white and custom colors—provide opportunities to create playful 90-degree geometric patterns that are highly distinctive.
In addition, JLC Tech T-BAR STAX™ lights—specifically designed for the DesignStackz Ceiling System—elevate the functionality and sophistication of the ceiling design. Lights in this modular system occupy the grid only and offer a low profile. They also can be placed wherever light is needed in the ceiling and are installed with few to no tools.
“When a person enters a room with a DesignStackz ceiling, they get the impression of a ceiling that required a great deal of complex planning, time, and engineering,” said Cailyn Paul, Commercialization Manager, Armstrong World Industries. “DesignStackz innovation achieves precision geometric ceilings supported by an ease of installation, which is critical given today’s skilled labor shortages. The ceiling system encourages architects and designers to explore the interplay of the panels’ orientation, color selection, and lighting to create truly unique ceiling patterns that can range from the fun and playful to the sleek and elegant.”
Sustainability and IEQ
The DesignStackz Ceiling System supports enhanced Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) by providing an excellent combination of sound absorption (0.70 NRC) and sound blocking (37 CAC). The DesignStackz Ceiling System is also part of the Armstrong Sustain® portfolio, meeting the most stringent industry sustainability compliance standards today, and the Armstrong® CleanAssure™ family of products, including disinfectable panels, suspension systems, and trim.
DesignStackz ceiling panels are comprised of up to 75% recycled content and can be recycled through the Armstrong Ceilings Recycling Program. The DesignStackz Ceiling System is also Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA) compliant.
Specially sized and engineered for precision results
