A multiplication table or times table is a number grid that can help you learn to multiply quickly, either with a table or, eventually, in your head. It’s not magic, but rather memorization. Multiplication table is simple to use. You can select any number from 0 to 12 across the top and any number from 0 to 12 along the left side. Draw a line from the top number to the bottom number and across from the left number. The answer is found where the two intersect. Consider the preceding example. You need to multiply 7 by 6. So there are seven in the top row and six on the left side. Follow the yellow arrow down from 7 and across from 6 to arrive at your destination. They come together at 42!
Take it one row at a time if you need to memorize the table for school. Trying to remember a large square full of numbers all at once is too difficult for most of us. Choose a row or column and learn it on its own. Assume you choose the second row. “2 x 0 = 0. 2 x 1 = 2. 2 x 2 = 4. 2 x 3 = 6,” say to yourself (if it helps). And so, on until you reach the end of the row: “2 x 12 = 24.” In this article, we are going to discuss multiplication tables.

Multiplication By 9

Multiplying 9 by a whole number from 1 to 10 is also possible as follows:
Method 1

  1. From left to right, count the fingers and thumbs from 1 to 10.
  1. Flex the finger or thumb that corresponds to the number.
  1. The tens digit is determined by the number of fingers or thumbs to the left of the bend (if none, the digit is zero).
  1. The unit digit is determined by the number of fingers or thumbs to the right of the bend (if none, the digit is zero).

Method 2

  1. Subtract 1 from the number you are multiplying 9 by to get your tens digit.
  1. The one’s digit is the number required to make the sum of the tens and one’s digits equal to nine.

Importance of Multiplication Table

Although a simple calculator can be used to perform these multiplications, its use is discouraged for two reasons. To begin with, calculators are generally not permitted in primary school. Second, their use prevents students from developing mental math skills, which can be extremely useful in adulthood.
It is important to visualize and recite the tables until the student can recall any particular multiple, such as ‘seven of eight are’, to aid in the memorization of Math multiplication tables.
Another method for memorizing the tables is to practice writing them down repeatedly. In fact, by reciting the tables at the same time, the student can complete all three methods of learning the tables – visualizing, reciting, and writing.
As students’ progress from primary to secondary school, the ability to perform quick and accurate arithmetic operations becomes increasingly important. Recalling multiples of up to 20 is essential when calculating the least common multiple or calculating the final velocity of an object moving at a certain acceleration.
Furthermore, if you need to multiply large numbers beyond the table of 20, you must use fundamental multiplication. For example, in order to multiply 36 and 18, first multiply 6 and 8. To progress past the first step, the student should be able to recall that six eighths equal forty-eight. Math multiplication tables can be useful in this situation.
