Eleven hours, multiple snacks, and constant “nooo way” shouting out loud. All of that took us to finish us the first season of Love is Blind on Netflix. We were skeptical till the last minute, but all the memes and total hype around it on every social media made us give up our positions and watch it.
Some people are obsessed with it. Others find it silly. Yet all those people watched it, which makes the rating go higher. We were in the number of people who thought it’s silly. Although now, we can’t wait for the second season, praying for them to start shooting it as soon as possible, and we did follow our favorite couples on Instagram. Anyway, we will break it down for you quickly so you can figure out if you are ready to get some love while on quarantine.
Everything is quite simple: an equal number of male and female singles who are ready to settle down and are looking for a wife or a husband are captured in one facility. Women live on one side, men on the other. Women don’t see men, men don’t see women. Within the first two weeks, they have to meet each other but only hear each other’s voices. They are allowed to build an emotional connection before actually seeing the looks first, which could ruin the judgment before you get to know the person like dating or sexting sites but without profile photos.
You do talk with all the guys and girls one on one through thick yet not soundproof glass. Eventually, you can choose people you are interested in. No worries, they all make notes in their journals while this truly blind dating experience.
If you don’t feel any connection after a few dates, you can ghost that person by simply not showing up to the room. Then if they feel like one person is their other half, guys have the opportunity to propose, and if she says yes — they meet in real life. If they like each other’s appearance or do not care about that, proving that love is blind and looks don’t matter — they propose again but in person.
After that, they would have 4 weeks to get ready for the wedding. But before that, they are going to pre-wedding vacation without phones or any other communication back home. They live in the same room, and here is where they have the opportunity to check if that is really love and how they feel around each other. You would like that part, we promise.
Since the show participants are all over the states, once they are back from their bae-cation, they will move in together in the same apartment building. All couples will become neighbors until the end of the show. Here they will plan the wedding and meet families and friends on each side.
Meanwhile, they will check if they are capable of living together when they have their regular lives and phones back. Will their families accept their choice of marrying this fast and this particular person. Parents and friends can be picky.
If a couple didn’t fall apart during vacation, they would have to wait till the wedding day. Only at the wedding, they decide “I do” or leave forever. The tension is wild, and we enjoyed the first season of Love Is blind.
We highly recommend the show as it’s an entirely new format and the experiment that will keep you wondering if love is truly blind. It is far from Love Island, which is fun to watch, but it’s only drama and a little bit of stupidity when the Love is Blind show is moving quite fast and keeps you on your toes each episode.
Oh, and that Reunited 11th episode is the one to live for. The entire reunion is happening nearly a year after the show was filmed, and all the tea that is spilling is just pure joy for people who are there for brutal drama and gossip.
If you are stuck at home and have no idea what to do, we highly suggest you watch it. You won’t regret it.
