Officials in Maryland will look for private partners to construct, operate and finance the $2.2 billion Purple Line project, following the state’s Board of Public Works‘ approval of the planned delivery method. The state’s Department of Transportation plans to issue a request for proposals and select a winning proposal in fall 2014, then submit it back to the board for final approval. Work on the project could begin in 2015 if the state gets $900 million in federal funding and approves a P3 agreement. Read The Washington Post story here.
