After a record year for hurricanes that is considered the most costly in recorded history, Sierra Pacific Windows announced at the 2018 International Builders Show that it will debut more FeelSafe hurricane-ready products in 2018 than ever before. The new products will not only be impact-resistant, to withstand Zone III or IV hurricane-force wind and water damage, but they will also bring a new level of design sophistication previously unseen in this category.
โ€œForecasts for 2018 are for another year of rampant hurricane devastation, potentially matching that of last year,โ€œ said Vice President of Business Development Bob Taylor. โ€œIn anticipation, Sierra Pacific Windows is introducing an expanded line of FeelSafe hurricane solutions that offers both superior protection and never-before-seen design aesthetics.โ€
New this year will be the FeelSafe Bi-fold Door (available in spring 2018), which is ideal for large, expansive openings; along with the FeelSafe Push Out Casement, that will be available later this year, and the FeelSafe Aspen Casement, which is currently in development. Each of these products provide the brute strength of high-impact products, while pushing the design limits with more sophisticated options for hurricane markets.
The storm-tested H3 FeelSafe take Sierra Pacific Windows award-winning H3 platform and combines it with the โ€œworkhorse strengthโ€ of the FeelSafe impact line. The game changing solution of H3 FeelSafe is that it brings all the advantages of the H3 with the beauty of a wood window to the large Zone III impact-sensitive market. โ€œPeople donโ€™t have to step up to more expensive Zone IV rated products, and they also donโ€™t have to step down to vinyl impact products,โ€ Taylor explained.
H3 FeelSafe Casement & Double Hung features include:

  • PG +50/โ€“60 Zone III rating
  • Continuous head and sill, certified with mulls and stacks up to 3-wide and 2-high
  • Double hung size options up to 48โ€ wide x 84โ€ high
  • Casement size options up to 36″ wide x 84″ high
  • Wide selection of insulated FeelSafe impact glazing
  • Full range of design options โ€“ colors, hardware finishes, SDL bars, and more
  • Standard AAMA 2604 powder coat finish with optional AAMA 2605 powder coat finish

At the core of the H3 line is Sierra Pacificโ€™s patented Fusion TechnologyTM, which integrates extruded aluminum, vinyl and solid wood into one aesthetically and structurally ideal window. This unique fusion results in improved energy efficiency and performance, noticeably enhanced aesthetics, an extreme seal, and easier installation. Its rigid nailing fin makes it one of the easiest windows to install, virtually eliminating racking problems. Its innovative snap-lock design means no unsightly screws or fasteners on its interior. With the addition of FeelSafe glazing, the H3 window is even more effective at weathering storms.
