Carnegie Acoustic Solutions, a division of Carnegie that manufactures iconic, sustainable acoustic design elements, proudly announces the newly reimagined Xorel ArtformⓇ, a next-generation acoustic solution that redefines what’s possible at the intersection of beauty, performance, and environmental responsibility.
In celebration of Carnegie’s 75th anniversary and its continued leadership in sustainable design, Carnegie has elevated their signature, patented Xorel Artform acoustic collection to be even more planet friendly. At the heart of this transformation is rPET-Core, an American-made acoustic substrate composed of a minimum of 60% recycled plastic. This upgrade brings a more sustainable foundation to all Xorel Artform panels, tiles, clouds, and baffles, including a Class A Fire-Rating, low VOC certification, an HPD, and the opportunity for LEED building credits.
“Carnegie’s enduring mission is to deliver high-performance products for the commercial built environment—solutions that not only meet aesthetic and functional needs but are also made from materials that are safe for both people and the planet,” said Dana Pucillo, Vice President of Acoustic Solutions at Carnegie. “The transition from fiberglass to rPET-Core eliminates formaldehyde, a Red List material, while maintaining the exceptional sound absorption across high and low frequencies that designers and specifiers have trusted for years.”
Finished in Carnegie’s renowned acoustically transparent XorelⓇ or Biobased Xorel textile—a Cradle to Cradle™ Certified, plant-based material derived from rapidly renewable sugarcane—the new Xorel Artform offers two high-performing substrate options: 1” rPET-Core (direct-mount NRC 0.70) and 2” rPET-Core (direct-mount NRC 0.80). Both substrate variations feature tackable 2D forms, providing added functionality alongside acoustic performance. With over 350 Xorel colors, textures, and patterns available, designers can address acoustic needs while unlocking expansive creative possibilities.
Pucillo continues, “With this next step, Xorel Artform continues its legacy of providing outstanding acoustic performance, expansive design flexibility, and effortless installation—now with even stronger sustainability credentials.”
As a B-Corp that champions PVC-free and recycled materials, Carnegie strives to lead the acoustics industry with an authentic commitment to sustainability. From biobased textiles made from sugarcane to PET products crafted from post-consumer recycled plastics, Carnegie Acoustic Solutions provides beautiful and innovative acoustic solutions with sustainability at its core. The new Xorel Artform is a bold embodiment of Carnegie’s values, fusing advanced acoustic performance, environmental stewardship, and artistic vision to support healthier interiors and a more sustainable future.
