National developer Portman today announces that SWTHZ (SweatHouz), the fastest-growing luxury contrast therapy studio, is joining the retail mix at Starling, the 359-unit multifamily building in Germantown overlooking First Horizon Park. With this latest signing, Starling’s retail component is 100% leased.
SWTHZ (SweatHouz) is a luxury boutique wellness brand that focuses on a scientifically backed approach to self-care, combining hot and cold temperatures for optimal mental and physical performance and wellness. At SWTHZ (SweatHouz), guests can experience a variety of membership and package options to take advantage of its private suites that offer infrared saunas, cold plunges and vitamin-C showers for relaxation and rejuvenation. Expected to open this August, SWTHZ (SweatHouz) at Starling marks the brand’s second location in Tennessee and the first in Nashville.
“SWTHZ (SweatHouz) is a sanctuary for wellness; a place where everyone can rejuvenate the mind and body,” said Jamie Weeks, CEO. “When we set our sights on Nashville, we were immediately drawn to how Starling was uniquely tailored to an active, health-driven lifestyle. We are proud for “SWTHZ (SweatHouz) to become part of the dynamic and vibrant Germantown community.”
One of Starling’s most notable amenities is its 17,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. In addition to SWTHZ (SweatHouz), Starling is home to several best-in-class fitness and retail concepts. Toastique, a gourmet toast and juice bar, and Solidcore, a strength training fitness concept, are now open. Retrograde Coffee, a neighborhood coffee shop, will open this spring. Social Cantina, a modern Mexican restaurant and tequila bar, KyuRamen, a popular Japanese ramen shop, PennePazze, a farm-to-table Italian eatery and GelatoPazzo, an Italian ice cream concept, will open in the coming months.
Starling was thoughtfully designed to embrace the Cumberland River Greenway, which Portman recently renovated and expanded to enhance the pedestrian experience around the project. The project also overlooks First Horizon Park, the home of the Nashville Sounds, which is just steps away from Starling via the greenway. Hundreds of residents have already moved into Starling, which offers a highly amenitized living experience, including a rooftop pool with views of the Nashville skyline.
“With all projects, our goal is to create a retail experience that adds to the culture and soul of the surrounding community,” said Dotan Zuckerman, Portman’s Head of Retail Development. “In a growing neighborhood like Germantown, we knew a mix of local retail, chef-driven restaurants and top fitness brands would not only invigorate the residential experience at Starling but also drive pedestrian energy to the greenway.”
Also in Nashville, Portman developed The Moore Building, a 16-story Class-A office building in the heart of Nashville’s iconic Music Row district. Located within walking distance of Broadway, The Moore Building features 236,000 square feet of office space and 8,500 square feet of ground-floor retail, which includes Atlanta-based Highland Yoga.
