Design/Build general contractor, Keystone Construction Company, has begun construction of the new $60 million CarShield Sportsplex© AAA Hockey & Futbol facility in Chesterfield, Missouri. Scheduled to complete in January 2025, the world-class indoor and outdoor sports facility will be one of the largest in the Midwest. It will accommodate the growing CarShield AAA Hockey & Futbol clubs, which already serve more than 500 kids and 45 teams in the St. Louis Metropolitan area, including Nacho Novas’ CarShield Futbol Program and J.P Beilsten’s elite AAA CarShield hockey program.

A Groundbreaking Celebration was held on Wednesday, October 23 featuring ceremonial shoveling of ground by members of the project team and leadership of the sportsplex. The event also included speeches by Nick Hamilton, CEO CarShield, and Bill Hardie, president of Keystone Construction.

The new 325,000-square-foot CarShield Sportsplex© is being constructed on 33-acres at 530 North Eatherton Road in Chesterfield Valley. It will offer four indoor turf soccer fields, two indoor ice rinks, team locker rooms, a pro shop, training and fitness spaces, a restaurant, bar, concessions and classrooms & competition ice rinks, educational hockey & futbol academies, youth training, food and entertainment year round. Outside, there will be three turf soccer fields, concessions, dining patio and a children’s playground. The design features large, clear-span structures that will allow for an open interior free of obstruction in the ice rink and soccer fields. The civil engineer is Stock & Associates. The architect is Gray Design Group.

Keystone was tasked with defining the project scope and ensuring that the design and construction are delivered in alignment with the client’s goals. Keystone also was the general contractor for the 100,000-square-foot The Beal Center, formerly Chesterfield Sports Complex, volleyball and basketball facility, which opened nearby in 2023.

“On the futbol side, Nacho Novas is helming CarShield’s Futbol Club  and already has players within the STL CITY organization, wins at Super Copa, Missouri President’s Cup, and the Missouri State Championship. And It will be great for St. Louis to host a lot more local, regional, state-level futbol competitions and year-round futbol school,” said Hamilton
