NUDURA Inc., North America’s leading provider of Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs), today announced the expansion of its educational podcast series to include an additional six installments in 2017. Keven Rector, technical services manager for NUDURA, will lead each podcast with an in-depth discussion about using ICFs to enhance energy efficiency, comfort and sustainability. Listeners can access the newest installments for free at iTunes or PodBean.
NUDURA ICFs consist of two panels of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) foam connected together with a patented web system. The forms are stacked, reinforced and then filled with concrete, creating a strong, energy-efficient concrete wall. Made from 100 percent recycled material, NUDURA ICFs can provide energy savings of up to 50 percent above wood frame construction, reducing HVAC costs and overall carbon footprint. Throughout the series, listeners will gain a deeper understanding of the system’s additional benefits.
“With rising energy requirements, fuel costs and extreme weather conditions, architects, homeowners and contractors will want to understand how to create a strong structure, minimize labor costs and optimize building performance,” said Rector. “NUDURA ICFs are frequently integrated with Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) certified designs, and are extremely versatile, durable and easy to install.”
In late 2015, NUDURA launched a series of podcasts in which Rector addressed key benefits of ICF technology and its continued adoption in both commercial and residential construction. The first installment in the new series, “Using ICFs Across the World” will begin with an overview of unique project successes using NUDURA ICF in the United States, United Kingdom and United Arab Emirates.
The other podcasts set to release in 2017 are entitled:
· Why do ICFs Keep Trending Up in Residential Construction?
· Integrating Moisture Management Systems with ICF
· Using ICFs for a Faster, Easier Installation
· The Answer for Exposed Concrete – NUDURA One Series
· How Trained ICF Installers Get Ahead
Throughout the series, Rector addresses how ICF technology can solve common design and installation challenges, and integrate with other building products such as Water Resistive Barriers (WRBs). He also explains how easily contractors can create and install a wide variety of custom form combinations for pools, elevator shafts and more.
“With NUDURA’s one-day training course, the process to become a trained ICF installer is easier than ever,” continued Rector. “The skills needed to install the systems are transferrable from practically any other trade, including masonry, concrete pouring and wood framing construction.”
NUDURA’s podcast channel is the company’s latest complement to its robust social media presence, where followers share project news and engage in discussions about installation best practices, environmental responsibility and product innovations. As of Mar. 1, 2017, NUDURA reported more than 1,335 followers on Twitter and 886 followers on LinkedIn.
