Georgia-Pacific will hold a ribbon-cutting for its new $325 million gypsum wallboard production facility. The invitation only event will include remarks from Christian Fisher, Georgia-Pacific president and CEO, David Neal, Georgia-Pacific president of the gypsum business, and local dignitaries, including Judge Whitley May, Nolan County and U.S. Rep. Stan Lambert.

Initially announced in September 2020, the new $325 million gypsum wallboard production facility will be Georgia-Pacific’s second gypsum facility in Nolan County, a location selected due to its proximity to gypsum customers. The two operations combined will supply customers and distribution partners with more than 1 billion square feet of gypsum products each year and create more than 100 new jobs.

The new facility incorporates several innovative technology tools and production processes. This investment strengthens Georgia-Pacific’s capacity to meet growing customer needs in Texas’ residential, commercial, and industrial construction markets. The immeasurable support given to Georgia-Pacific by the Sweetwater community, Nolan County, and the state of Texas, also solidifies the choice to build the new facility at this location.
