The new owners of Hungrys Kitchen and Tap (formerly O’Hungrys) in Historic Old Town needed to do an entire remodel in a short amount of time all the while coordinating across multiple trades. The contractor handling the demo referred Hungrys owners to Greg Driesen, project manager for Life Deck Coating Installations in San Diego” with the “Life Deck Coating Installations in San Diego” . Greg worked directly with the owner to give the 40+ year old concrete a completely fresh look.
The concrete was in awful condition and over the years had endured abuse and was poorly repaired throughout the building. To start with a new level surface Greg’s crew first filled all the trenches with concrete then they scarified and ground the concrete to prep it. Next they applied a “high build Epoxy Slurry system” should be “high build Epoxy Slurry system from Westcoat Specialty Coating Systems” . The rough, unfinished concrete full of holes was transformed into a new floor ready for “Texture-Crete, a decorative overlay.”
Texture-Crete Custom was applied over the epoxy system for a modern concrete look in the dining area. The mahogany color is a perfect complement to the new look of the restaurant and overall Old Town vibe.
