Matern Professional Engineering is pleased to announce the addition of Jeffrey Stash, LEED AP, as the firm’s newest Senior Designer in the Ft. Myers office. Stash joins the firm with over three decades of experience in project management, working primarily in the school building/government industry. He specializes in designing plumbing and fire protection systems on projects with predefined energy budgets by designing systems that use renewable energy sources, including photovoltaic panels and solar and water heating systems, for conveyance and irrigation. Stash will work with colleagues and clients to develop solutions tailored to client needs.

“Bringing a seasoned professional like Jeff onboard is a great move as we continue to grow our Ft. Myers office,” said Todd Griffith, Sr. Vice President, and Director of Matern’s Southwest Florida Region. “Jeff’s exceptional knowledge regarding plumbing and fire protection systems will further our firm’s specialization and provide better services to our clients.”

Before joining Matern, Stash worked for a large consulting engineering firm where he worked on major LEED projects, including designing an intuitive and sustainable solar hot water and rainwater system. His work over the years allowed him to become a firm-wide instructor on basic and advanced solar and rainwater harvesting systems. Stash’s innovative nature and tenacity have seen him design various plumbing and fire protection systems for large projects across the Florida region. His notable projects include redesigning various spaces and protection systems for Suncoast Polytechnical High School, Immokalee Middle School, Dr. Mona Jain Middle School, Avalon Elementary School, Big Cypress Elementary School, Bonita Springs High School, and GD Rogers Garden Elementary School.

“I’m excited to join the Matern team and bring my experience to firm clients and community partners,” said Stash. “My experience will augment the firm’s team and help continue its growth in the coming years. I look forward to collaborating with talented colleagues and advancing our offerings.”

Stash is an American Society of Plumbing Engineers member and an Accredited Professional in the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association. He earned his Associate Degree from Northern Virginia Community College and his Mechanical Drafting Certificate from the Maryland Drafting Institute. He is also a Florida Master Plumber.
