Wendy’s has rolled out its “Own Your Opportunity” initiative, designed to recruit a more diverse group of franchisees by making ownership more accessible to women, people of color and other underrepresented groups, the company said. The program includes a plan for Wendy’s to secure sites in underserved areas and build units it will then give to new franchisees, who wouldn’t have access to the capital, to develop new restaurants on their own.
