Johnson Carlier Construction, an Arizona-based general contractor, is scheduled to begin a two-phased, tenant improvement project for Southwest Contemporary Women’s Care. Construction will include the interior remodel of their existing office. The intent of the remodel is to reduce waiting areas, maximize new employee break rooms, increase conference rooms and more appropriately house office and exam rooms. The scope also includes the replacement of interior partitions, doors, frames and hardware.
Southwest Contemporary Women’s Care provides OB/GYN services for women of all ages. They have offices in Ahwatukee, Gilbert, and Tempe. Since 1981, their primary focus has been to provide women with professional guidance and a nurturing environment from the start of womanhood to maternity and menopause.
As an occupied campus with patient-sensitive needs, much of the preconstruction and construction on this project will be done through an open dialog with the owner. “Crews will need to work with and beside doctors and nurses daily to make sure that the staff is able to continue to provide the same service patients are accustomed to. Noise compliance, cleanliness and keeping and open walkway between buildings will be at top-of-mind,” stated Johnson Carlier’s Elena Henry, Project Manager for the remodel.
Referred by a long-standing subcontractor for Johnson Carlier, the client is familiar with the team’s talents and has requested specific materials to ensure that the budget and schedule is able to be upheld as expected. Phase one will begin on the vacant side of the campus. Once completed, patient services will move to this area so that phase two, located on the currently occupied side, can be completed in its entirety.
The project is anticipated to complete by the end of July 2022.
