James T. Viviano, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, has joined the award-winning architectural firm 5G Studio Collaborative as Partner, and will serve as the Director for 5G Studio’s Atlanta office, the company announced today.
With a premier roster of clients across all sectors, the firm’s Atlanta operations have grown from the acquisition of DVA Architecture in 2012 to include the design of mixed-use developments, master planning assignments, institutional, residential and commercial projects. Among the firm’s current projects is the highly acclaimed Riverwalk Village mixed-use development in Roswell, Georgia.  5G Studio Collaborative recently completed the new headquarters for the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Atlanta and AIA Georgia chapter offices in downtown Atlanta.
Viviano joins 5G Studio Collaborative having served in leadership roles with national award-winning design and construction companies for 30 years.  He has broad and deep experience in various building types, including recreation and performing arts, institutional, retail, commercial office and residential design.  He comes to 5G Studio having directed business development for the Georgia region of Skanska USA Building Inc. and as an Associate Director with Cooper Carry Architects in Atlanta.   A retail industry veteran, Viviano also was Design Director for The May Department Stores Company while living in St. Louis, having led architecture and store design for the company’s legendary anchor brands across the United States.

Viviano is also a leading advocate for sustainable development, design and construction and is committed to making the built environment an example for other industries and businesses to become good stewards of the world we live in. He currently serves on the Atlanta Chapter of  the US Green Building Council’s leadership team, and is the Vice President of the Atlanta chapter of Lambda Alpha International, an honorary society focused on intelligent land use and sustainable development of our cities and townships.
Viviano is a member of the American Institute of Architects and is a LEED Accredited Professional.  He is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and   is licensed to practice architecture in Georgia and in the District of Columbia.  He is an honors graduate of the College of Architecture at the University of Houston. Viviano’s many professional affiliations also include the Urban Land Institute; Design Build Institute of America; Central Atlanta Progress; National Association for Office and Industrial Parks (NAOIP); and The Council for Quality Growth.
5G Studio Collaborative is based in Dallas.  With continual award-winning designs, the firm’s work from offices in Dallas, Atlanta and Miami and in its international teams abroad encompasses all industry sectors, with projects across the United States, and in Asia, South America and the Middle East. Included in the firm’s acclaimed and award-winning designs are the iconic Omni Dallas Convention Center Hotel and the NYLO Dallas Hotel.   The firm’s continual honors include the 2014 American Institute of Architects National Award for Excellence in Health Care Design for its Legacy ER project in Allen, Texas.   5G Studio Collaborative’s work in entertainment, residential and resort/hospitality design is expanding particularly in Asia, with high profile assignments in Vietnam, China, and Indonesia.
