This Construction Safety Week is putting the spotlight on professionals who build America’s homes, cities and infrastructure — and the urgent need for better safety standards on the jobsite.

A new survey commissioned by Bosch Power Tools, conducted by Talker Research, revealed that construction workers are seen as having the #2 toughest job in the country, second only to firefighters. Yet the data also reveals that those in the trades are still not getting the recognition or jobsite safety protection they deserve:

  • Over half of trade workers (57%) experienced up to four safety-related “close calls” on the job in the past year.
  • Over four-fifths of respondents (81%) said trade workers don’t get the credit they deserve for the work they do.

With 42% of trade workers feeling like their employer was skirting safety codes and regulations, ensuring proper use of power tools and building a culture of jobsite safety has never been more important.
