The Steel Joist Institute (SJI) is excited to announce its 2017 Live Webinar schedule. Starting in February, SJI will present one webinar per month through December. Each webinar will focus on a topic pertaining to the steel joist industry, and allows construction professionals to earn continuing education credits. Specific dates and times will be announced prior to each webinar. 
This year, the Live Webinar series will feature the following topics:

March – Wind Design Considerations for Joists and Joist Girders
April – Wind Design Considerations for Joists and Joist Girders
May – Diaphragm Design that Makes Sense: How to Design & Specify Steel Deck by Representatives of the SDI
June – Diaphragm Design that Makes Sense: How to Design & Specify Steel Deck by Representatives of the SDI
July – Composite Joist – New 2nd Edition Specifications, New Technical Digest No. 13
August – Composite Joist – New 2nd Edition Specifications, New Technical Digest No. 13
September – Bridging – How it Works and What to Work Around
October – Part 1: Evaluation and Modification of Open Web Steel Joists and Joist Girders
November – Part 2: Evaluation and Modification of Open Web Steel Joists and Joist Girders
December – Ethics, Laws and Regulations by Stites and Harbison 
The webinar series is geared toward structural engineers, fabricators, detailers and connection design firms who are responsible for steel joist and Joist Girder building designs and their connections. Individuals who are responsible for the design of Joist Girder moment frames that are subjected to gravity and lateral loading as well as those responsible for auditing, reviewing or approving such designs will benefit from these courses.  
Individual registration cost is $75 and each person who registers will receive his or her own link to the webinar. Site registration is also available for $300, allowing multiple attendees from the same company to utilize one link to the webinar. Additional information can be found at steeljoist.org/2017webinars 
Besides setting standards for the steel joist industry, the Steel Joist Institute works closely with major building code bodies throughout the country helping to develop code regulations regarding steel joists and Joist Girders. The Institute also invests thousands of dollars in research related to steel joists and Joist Girders and offers a complete library of publications and other training, research and design aids.
