Miller Electric Mfg. Co., a leading worldwide manufacturer of arc welding equipment, has introduced the new Big Blue® 800 Duo Pro welder/generator with FieldPro™ Smart Feeder compatibility for improved productivity and efficiency in field welding applications. The multiprocess system can run conventional Stick, TIG, FCAW and MIG welding — and now advanced Regulated Metal Deposition (RMD®) and Pulsed MIG processes with the addition of the FieldPro Smart Feeder. These advanced processes help to reduce weld failures and can eliminate backing gas on some stainless and chrome-moly pipe welding applications.
The FieldPro Smart Feeder brings complete control to the welding operator at the joint, optimizing uptime and simplifying parameter adjustments and process changeover, while helping to improve overall weld quality and productivity. Eliminating the need to travel to and from the power source also improves safety by limiting jobsite movement — reducing slip, trip and fall hazards.
The FieldPro Smart Feeder delivers excellent RMD and Pulsed MIG welding up to 200 feet away from the power source, with no control cables that can cause clutter and hassle on a jobsite. Controls are labeled in common welder terminology to make it simple and intuitive to use.
This powerful, independent multi-operator work platform delivers two premium-quality arcs — up to 400 amps each — allowing welding operators to work independently of one another with no arc interaction. With combined outputs of 800 amps, the engine drive provides enough power for a single welding operator to run large stick electrodes, Stud weld, or Carbon Arc Gouge with large electrodes.
A multi-arc platform also improves fuel efficiency by up to 35 percent compared to two single-operator units with similar engine power.
Users can experience up to 20,000 kW of three-phase power and 12,000 kW of single-phase power — even while welding.
Every component is engineered and built to ensure ultimate reliability in tough welding conditions. A Miller-exclusive Line-X cover provides added durability.
For more information on the Big Blue 800 Duo Pro SF welder/generator, customers can visit their local welding distributor or MillerWelds.com.More arcs and better fuel economy equal increased profits for your business. Estimated savings are 34 percent with a dual-operator unit versus two single-operator units.
