EMJ Corporation is pleased to welcome Matthew Patterson as our new Industrial Sector National Account Executive. Matthew is highly regarded for his expertise in this sector and will bring valuable knowledge to EMJ as we expand our efforts in the manufacturing, distribution and supply chain industries.
Most recently serving as Vice President of Industrial for Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) Atlanta, Matthew gained valuable knowledge in real estate transactional activities for industrial clients.   Additionally, he has significant experience in industrial site selection from prior positions at the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, where he was Director of Supply Chain and Advanced Manufacturing, and the Georgia Department of Economic Development, where he was Senior Statewide Manager of Industrial Recruitment.
At Metro Atlanta Chamber (MAC), Matthew was responsible for developing and executing MAC’s global marketing and business development strategy to several targeted manufacturing sectors and carried out lead generation and site selection for major recruitment projects in Atlanta, Georgia and the Southeast.
While at The Georgia Department of Economic Development, Matthew marketed the State of Georgia to worldwide business leaders, successfully recruiting over 50 domestic and international companies to Georgia. The resulting benefit was $1 billion in new capital investment and the creation of more than 4,500 new jobs.
A resident of Johns Creek, Ga., Matthew will work closely with EMJ’s Chattanooga office. He graduated from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics. He is an active member of several industry organizations, is an executive board member of The Georgia China Alliance, and previously served on the board of directors for The Georgia Solar Energy Association, Metro Atlanta Plug-in Electric Vehicle Readiness Task Force and the Georgia Greentech Corridor. He is also past director of the Metro Atlanta Chamber’s Cleantech Leadership Council and Supply Chain Leadership Council.
EMJ Corporation is also pleased to announce the addition of John N. Maggiore as Director of Development and Engineering Services. John brings with him over 35 years of nationally-based land development experience.
As a former development manager on the ownership side and long-term client of EMJ, John understands a client’s perspective on the value of risk reduction through strategic and creative thinking during initial project development. His land development expertise and unique owner’s perspective, along with his extensive years of experience, will be a valuable resource for EMJ clients.
Prior to joining EMJ, John was with Archon Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Goldman Sachs, for over 10 years as Director of Development for the U.S. Real Estate Division. John’s responsibilities at Archon included asset underwriting, project due diligence, project entitlements, public representation, project permitting, architect/engineer management, and contractor collaboration. John has developed for tenants such as Target, Walmart, JCPenney, Lowe’s, CVS and First Choice Emergency Rooms. He also served as Senior Vice President of Retail Assets for Hudson Americas/Lone Star Funds responsible for the management of three regional malls and all portfolio retail assets.
John will be based out of EMJ’s Dallas office. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and has 18 hours of engineering graduate studies at University of Houston.
