Subway hits 40,000th restaurant plateau

Subway is all about milestones these days. The company recently opened its 40,000th restaurant location at an AppleGreen gas station in Ipswich, England. With more 1,761 new locations around the world, Subway operates more than 9,000 non-traditional locations worldwide – 4,500 in gas stations. The United Kingdom is the brand’s third largest market, behind the United States and Canada, with more than 1,500 locations. In all, there are 14,000 international locations in 102 countries outside the United States.
