Mapei Ultrabond ECO 977 Fast-Set Adhesive

MAPEI recently introduced Ultrabond ECO 977, a fast-setting, 100%-solids, one-component, moisture-cured urethane adhesive specifically designed for the installation of domestic solid and engineered wood flooring. “Ultrabond ECO 977 answers the challenge of faster, more secure wood-flooring installations, especially when working with concrete slabs that have high moisture content,” said Jeff Johnson, MAPEI Business Manager for Floor Covering Installation Systems and Surface Preparation Products. “This is an even easier choice for engineered and solid domestic hardwood installations when you consider that Ultrabond ECO 977 is a lightweight formulation in a 4-gallon [15,1-L] pail.”
Ultrabond ECO 977 is specifically formulated to quickly set in order to control the placement of interior wood flooring. It has been approved for use with domestic solid and engineered wood flooring of any width or length. Because this adhesive has a low-odor formula with negligible volatile organic compound (VOC) content, it is ideal for use in interior settings and can contribute to LEED v4 project points. Ultrabond ECO 977 is also certified as CRI Green Label Plus (#GLP01002) by the Carpet and Rug Institute, and is Red List Free as verified by Living Building Challenge’s most current list.
In addition to offering a fast set, placement control and low VOCs, Ultrabond ECO 977 can also be used in elevated subfloor moisture conditions of up to 12 lbs. (5,44 kg) MVER and 95% relative humidity when a specific installation method and trowel notch configurations are used. “MAPEI offers products like Ultrabond ECO 977 to provide secure floor-covering installations no matter what the environment or subfloor conditions may be,” Johnson said. “This strategy, along with our commitment to provide high-performance products that are environmentally sustainable, puts MAPEI at the forefront, especially in the wood-flooring installation market segment.”
