Guerdon Modular Buildings (“Guerdon”), the leading modular producer of large commercial construction projects in the multi-family and hospitality sectors, announced today that Jerry Goodwin has joined Guerdon as the company’s president and CEO.
Lad Dawson, founder and CEO since 2001, will remain actively involved beyond the transition period, with a heightened focus on developing the strategic direction and growth of the company. Dawson will continue promoting and marketing Guerdon’s modular technology and supporting the company’s initiatives to increase awareness and adoption of modular construction in the multi-family and hospitality sectors. Dawson also remains a substantial shareholder and will continue to serve on the board of directors.
“Jerry brings an impressive track record and depth of manufacturing experience from the aerospace industry and will be a tremendous asset to our team,” said Dawson. “We’ve strategically amassed a strong team of seasoned veterans, all with deep industry experience and many years of seniority on the Guerdon team. Jerry adds the seasoned CEO and leadership skills to take our team and company to the next level of growth and achievement.”
Prior to joining Guerdon, Goodwin was CEO of Senior Aerospace Structures Division for seven years, leading a company with 10 aerospace manufacturing facilities located across five countries. Previously, he served as vice president and general manager of Northwest Composites for 13 years. Under Goodwin’s leadership, both companies grew substantially via organic growth and acquisitions, gaining recognition for being among the best manufacturing companies in the aerospace sector.
“Jerry has an extensive leadership background growing companies and improving them with manufacturing techniques and effective strategies,” added Erik Krieger, managing partner of Riverlake Partners, the private equity firm that placed a majority equity investment in Guerdon in August 2014. “He will lead Guerdon into its next chapter of growth while enhancing quality, efficiency and performance.”
A northwest native, Goodwin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in plastics engineering technology from Western Washington University in 1989. He has served his communities on several nonprofit board of director positions, including YMCA, United Way and Snohomish Economic Development Council. In 2015, Goodwin was honored with the John M. Fluke, Sr. Community Leader award for his leadership within the philanthropic efforts of Snohomish County.
