Home Vendor News Sloan® Launches New CEU Courses

Sloan, the global leader in commercial plumbing systems, has introduced four online continuing education courses for architects, building owners, interior designers and engineers.  The online courses have approvals from AIA, GBCI, IDCEC, ASPE HSW, NAHB, AIBC, OAO, OAA and other professional organizations as part of Sloan’s commitment to educating plumbing specifiers on issues affecting commercial washroom design, such as sustainability, conservation of natural resources and aesthetics, among others.
Each course is worth 1 or 1.5 continuing education units (CEUs). The courses are being offered through AEC Daily, a developer of online education courses for the construction sector, and Hanley Wood, a provider of online learning for design and construction professionals.
The first course is Maximizing Water Efficiency for Sustainable Restroom Design. It provides an overview of national water usage and trends with a focus on high-efficiency, water-saving products for sustainable restroom design, green building program initiatives and a detailed overview of the LEED v4 Water Efficiency section.
Conserving Water Through High-Efficiency Plumbing Fixtures in Commercial Restrooms  explores the importance of water conservation and the impact on drain lines and plumbing systems. The focus is on low-flow/high-efficiency toilet systems, hybrid urinals and changes in LEED v4 as they relate to water efficiency.
Electronic Sensor Faucets Improve Hygiene and Conserve Water in Commercial Restrooms covers the impact of electronic sensor faucets on hygiene and water conservation through existing technologies, options and settings. The course includes specific markets and applications, as well as regulatory compliance factors.
Finally, Sink Selection for Sustainability and Accessibility covers restroom design trends for commercial buildings by focusing on sink/lavatory system technology and the sustainability and accessibility trends surrounding them.
In addition, Sloan offers the Maximizing Water Efficiency for Sustainable Restroom Design, Conserving Water Through High-Efficiency Plumbing Fixtures in Commercial Restrooms, Electronic Sensor Faucets Improve Hygiene and Conserve Water in Commercial Restrooms, and Sink Selection for Sustainability and Accessibility courses as a for-credit Lunch and Learn option. These one-hour courses are led by Sloan sales representatives, specifier managers, national sales managers or the sustainability director. The Lunch and Learn format features a 45-minute presentation and 15-minute Q&A session.  Time is made either before or after the presentation to discuss Sloan commercial restroom product solutions with the firm and their clients.
New CEU courses in both the online self-guided and Lunch and Learn formats are being added all the time. To see the list of courses currently available, visit Continuing Education at Sloan.com. For more information on  Sloan Lunch and Learns, contact Sloan at ceu@sloan.com.
